Ep.10: Know Thyself (Solo Episode)
Monday Jul 27, 2020
Monday Jul 27, 2020
Are you stuck in a rut of knowing you want something different in your life but you don't know what it is that you want to change or what goals to pursue? You're not alone! Many of my clients experienced this as well! They didn't know what goals they wanted to accomplish or they had a list of goals and couldn't decide what to tackle first. In this episode, I'll talk about the importance of Knowing Thyself and will provide actionable steps for identifying what goals you want to go after.
Episode Notes & Links:
Here are some free Interest Inventories you can take to help you get an idea of what career or hobby you might have an interest pursuing!
Minnesota State has a helpful Career Cluster Interest Survey that's open for anyone to use. It's geared toward helping potential students identify majors in which they might have an interest, but the survey did a good job of nailing down my interests and identifying a few other areas I might consider exploring.
https://careerwise.minnstate.edu/careers/clusterSurvey
Career One Stop's Interest Assessment is useful because after you take the assessment, it can provide a ton of information directly from the department of labor regarding salary expectations as well as education requirements needed to pursue a specific career.
https://www.careeronestop.org/Toolkit/Careers/interest-assessment.aspx
16 Personalities has a free test that's geared more toward identifying your personality; however, it also provides suggested career fields you might be interested in based off your personality. This assessments takes a little longer (about 12 minutes) but it provides a lot of fun information that has been pretty accurate each time I've take it.
